Picaninny Creek in the Purnululu National Park , Kimberleys

The first part of our 10 day adventure in the Bungles. We started early from Kununurra to catch the sunrise over Deception Range. 4 hours later we reached the Picaninny Creek carpark. After lunch we walked for 4 km to a beautiful little pool on Picaninny Creek. The area is surreal. Numerous beehive dome-shaped sedimentary mounds dotted randomly, intersected by a swirling creek with an elaborately carved sandstone creek bed. The next day we trekked to the 'Elbow' of Picaninny Creek where the creek does a 120 degree turn into the majestic Picaninny Creek gorge to reach the base camp at Black Rock Pool, just opposite Finger 1. We had an easy third day to reach the base camp for 3 days to explore Fingers 2,3 and 4. The fingers are for the next video.
