A quiet DIY journey of restoring a little cabin in the mountains.In the summer of 2025, I purchased a small pre-owned log cabin deep in the mountains of Nagano, Japan. After moving in, I discovered various issues that I now try to fix myself through DIY renovations. This channel documents that journey. This Episode’s DIY - Because of settling — the natural movement and shrinking of the wood that happens in log cabins — gaps had opened up in several places. After purchasing the cabin, I had already filled some of the gaps that bothered me from the inside, but I had not yet done any serious caulking from the outside. This time, I’m sharing a collection of the work I’ve been doing little by little since late March. It may be a quiet and unglamorous task, but it’s an important part of maintaining a log cabin.
