Steresis - Spencer Harrington (2025)

Following an impulsive murder/suicide sparked by one of his pupils, cult leader Warren Young leaves his California Valley commune to lay low across the United States in a rural North Florida town. After spending years maintaining a community convinced of detailed religious beliefs he fabricated as a means to make profit and grossly exercise power, he must now abandon his life’s work in search of a sanctuary to live out his retirement. Now adjusting to a world where he is not the sole messenger of God, Young’s detachment from the activity of his evil leads him through a paranoid projection of his character onto the world around him. Through surrealist visions that blur the lines between reality and thought, we see Young’s tyrannical character in contention with this new world away from the cult, sending him through a hallucinatory flee from his own life.
