Located in central Vietnam, Hoi An was one of the most prosperous international trading ports in Southeast Asia from the 15th to the 19th century. Over 500 years later, the city has preserved almost entirely the look of that era and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At night, countless lanterns light up the city, creating a completely different atmosphere. I walked through Hoi An myself a place where the time from 500 years ago still seems to flow today.
