The Gun That Time Forgot: A Factory New Mauser Broomhandle C/96 Flatside From 1899.
Today we're looking at a Mauser C/96 Broomhandle pistol from about 1899. This gun is in factory new condition, and was typical of a small group of guns made immediately after Mauser's 1899 Italian Navy Flatside contract. The most notable feature of these guns is the lack of any milling on the sides. They also have high polish blue, with extremely well milled flat surfaces. These guns are true pieces of the gun maker's art, and show the craftsmanship of the Mauser factory around the turn of the 20th Century.
