Electronic Spectra of Ethylene based on Group Theory

This video helps in understanding the interpretation of Electronic Spectra of Ethylene based on the principles of Group Theory. The Symmetry operations of the Point Group are applied to the bonding and antibonding orbitals. From the results obtained we get the symmetry of ground state and various excited states. From this, the allowed and forbidden transitions are found out with the help of Character Table
