Located in Hwangjeong-ri, Daegang-myeon, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, it faces Doraksan Mountain across a road. It was not well-known, overshadowed by other famous mountains and scenic spots in Danyang-gun, but its designation as one of the New Danyang Eight Scenic Views has brought a surge in visitors. The mountain is famous for Daeheungsa Temple, a thousand-year-old temple founded during the Silla Dynasty, and Wontongam Rock, as well as Madangbawi Rock, Silkworm Rock, Monster Rock, Doltap Rock, and Phallic Rock. Daeheungsa Temple, once a large temple with a floor space of approximately 6,000 pyeong (approximately 19,000 square meters), housed 500 Arhats and over 1,000 monks. However, it was destroyed by fire in 1876. Only Wontongam, said to have been founded by Monk Naong during the reign of King Gongmin of Goryeo, remained, but even that burned down in 1997. Next to Wontongam stands a 15-meter-tall rock, topped by a 7-meter-tall monolith. The rock, with its four vertical cracks, resembles the palm of a Buddha's hand. Chilseongam, designated as one of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang, is considered the crown jewel of the mountain. The mountain is rocky and has a rugged ridge. The starting point for the hike is Sainam, one of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang. From Sainam, climb Route 573, connecting Daegang-myeon, Danyang-gun and Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, for approximately 2km, and you'll come across a paved valley road leading to Hwangjeong-ri. Past Hwangjeong Elementary School, following the road uphill, you'll pass a bridge over Wontongam Valley. Soon after, the paved road ends, and a dirt road winds through the forest. About 2km later, you'll reach a dirt road that ascends the mountain. This road is used for climbing Wontongam and other mountaineering trails. The actual hike begins at Wontongam. A rock ridge at the summit adds to the enjoyment of the hike. From the summit, the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range stretches majestically to the south, Dosolbong Peak and Myojeokbong Peak to the northeast, and below that, you'll see Sainam Valley, Daeheung Valley, and Hwangjeong-ri Village. To the west, you'll see Doraksan Mountain. The descent follows the main ridge path north along the rock ridge. At times, you'll need to cross rock crevices or climb steep cliffs. The ridge path takes about an hour to reach the saddle. From there, continuing along the eastern ridge will take you past General's Finger Rock, Silkworm Rock, and Dolmen Rock, reaching the confluence. Descending directly into the valley, you'll pass through a larch forest, where the new trail ends and you'll descend back to the starting point along a flat cart road.
