Battisa Temple Barsur || Battisa Mandir Barsur Dantewada || Barsur Nagar || Chandraditya Mandir | This temple is the only temple in Bastar with two sanctums and a combined mandapa. The mandapa is supported by thirty-two stone pillars, giving it the name Battisa Temple. The mandapa has entrances on all three sides. The temple faces east and is built on a three-foot-high platform. The temple has two rectangular sanctums. Both sanctums contain Shivalingas with water pots. The Shivalingas are in the Triratha style. The water pot on the Shivalinga can be rotated completely by holding it. The frontal image of Lord Ganesha is depicted on the door branches of both sanctums. A Nandi is installed in front of each sanctum. The stone Nandi statues are highly ornate. A circumambulatory path surrounds the temple. The temple's spire has been destroyed. The remaining spire shows the influence of Dravidian art. The temple's spire may have been similar to the spire of the Shiva temple at Gumadpal. The temple's walls are very simple, with no carvings or sculptures. This temple had been completely destroyed; the Archaeological Department has renovated it. An inscription has been found in this temple. According to the inscription, Someshwardev's queen, Gangamahadevi, built two Shiva temples. One temple is named Veer Someshwara after her husband Someshwardev, and the other is named Gangadhareshwara after herself. According to the inscription, the date of construction of this temple is Sunday, Falgun Shukla Dwadash, Saka Samvat 1130, which corresponds to 1209 AD.
