Heavy rainfall continues to batter Northeast India, triggering floods, riverbank erosion, and widespread disruption in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. In Assam's Dhemaji district, a railway bridge pillar was damaged due to severe river erosion, forcing train services to be suspended. A 300-metre-long iron bridge over the Kemi River was also washed away, cutting off road connectivity for thousands of people. Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh is still recovering from flash floods and landslides that damaged roads and left several people missing. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heavy rainfall is likely to continue, with the risk of floods, landslides, and disruption to transport and essential services remaining high.
