What is water marbling? Water Marbling is an ancient art form that uses a gel-like medium to float droplets of paint allowing you to create unique designs using several different tools. Then print that design onto paper, fabric or most natural fibres. What do I need to start water marbling? I suggest starting with the Jacquard Marbling Kit and computer paper. Link is in my bio. Pretreatment with Alum. ALUM prep- I pre-treat all my items with the same Alum mixture. 4 cups of hot water to 1/4 cup alum OR 1 cup hot water to every 1 tablespoon of alum. Prep Carageenan and setup station. Skim the tray. Float the paint. Create the design. Print your item. Rinse item, set aside to dry. Clean off excess paint on the tray with newspaper or paper towel.
