Started in 1954 by the late Grandfather Jang Yu-cheong, the first generation of Chinese immigrants, and currently run by the third generation, Junghae Banjeom preserves the history and tradition of Daegu's Yakki Udon. In particular, the Original Yakki Udon, considered one of Daegu's Top 10 Delicacies, is an attractive dish featuring a harmonious blend of fresh seafood and vegetables, chewy noodles, and a smoky aroma created by quickly stir-frying in a high-heat wok. The sweet and sour pork ordered alongside it was made in the authentic style—crispy on the outside and moist on the inside—and boasted the perfect pairing with the spicy yakki udon. The restaurant consists of two floors and is suitable for group gatherings. It is also convenient to visit as it features a private parking lot, which is rare in the Dongseong-ro and Banwoldang commercial districts.
