Asolone 1918: gli ultimi giorni di guerra in un ricovero di prima linea sul Grappa

On Mount Asolone, in the Grappa massif, an Austro-Hungarian frontline shelter abandoned on October 31, 1918, has been the subject of an archaeological excavation. Part one of the report:    • Tempeste d'acciaio sull'Asolone: una caver...   This in-depth study delves into the method and results of the investigation: the reconstruction of the context, the stratigraphy that remained partially sealed by the end of the war, and the informative value of materials often considered "minor." Not the individual relic, but the collection of traces: fragments, boxes from 1918, everyday objects that, also interpreted quantitatively, recapture life on the front in the final months of the conflict on the Grappa. The excavation is part of the project to study and map the cemeteries of the Great War promoted by the Superintendency, which approaches the battlefields as historical-landscape contexts to be documented and understood.
