The Pioneer RT-707 Reel To Reel Tape Deck - Tape To Disc Comparison

My beloved Pioneer RT-707 Reel To Reel Tape Deck had been dormant for several years. When I moved to my current location, I had declined to set it up. I knew it needed to be serviced to bring it back to life, and this recently came to pass! My audio dealer and good friend Oswaldo Martinez, of Let There Be Sound knew the Pioneer RT-707 could sound wonderful, if it had a good going over by an expert. That person was Jeffrey Ting, an avid fan of all things tape and a knowledgable technician, who decided to take up the challenge. The results were more than I could have imagined! Part of this video is, of course, the tape to disc comparisons of Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends, and Bruno Walter's Beethoven Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral. However there is another element to it as well - a mystery tape prepared by Oswaldo that blew my mind.
