Houdan is a charming small town of Yvelines located in Île-de-France. It is on the edge of the Eure-et-Loir, about 30 kilometers from Mantes-la-Jolie and forty kilometers from Versailles and its castle. Limitrophe of Goussainville, Richebourg or Saint-Lubin-de-la-Haye, Houdan takes place in the heart of the Houdan country. Former county of the Ancien Régime, the commune was attached to Brittany in the Middle Ages, before returning to the kingdom of France during the marriage of Louis XII and Anne of Brittany. Today, Houdan is appreciated for its calm and particularly pleasant surroundings. The small town also allows to admire some beautiful buildings dating from these luxurious centuries.
