Orthodox believers in Belarus celebrated two significant dates: the 20th anniversary of the canonization of Blessed Valentina of Minsk and the 60th anniversary of her repose. Blessed Valentina is the first saint in modern Belarus to be canonized. The center of the celebrations was the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the village of Stankovo, Minsk Oblast, where the blessed elder's father served. Special prayers were also held on this day at the Church of Valentina of Minsk in Baranovichi. Today, this is the only active church in Belarus dedicated to the holy elder.
