The term "dystonia" comes from "tonicity," which refers to the level of muscle contraction. 03:18 - Medication-Related Dystonia in Parkinson's disease Dystonia in Parkinson's disease is one of the most common, affecting about 30% of patients undergoing treatment. It can occur when the medication loses its effect or at peak doses. Foot dystonia can cause pain and deformities in the feet, affecting mobility.
