You Don't Know Him Like You Think You Do - Can You See the Kingdom? [Part 19, Matthew 13:53-58]

When Jesus was rejected in his hometown, it wasn't strangers who missed him—it was the people who knew him best. Matthew 13 asks whether familiarity has quietly blinded you to the real Jesus too. Jesus returns to Nazareth and the people are genuinely amazed at his wisdom and power—but they can't see past "isn't this the carpenter's son?" They saw and heard everything, and still walked away offended. Pastor Alex draws the uncomfortable line straight to us: seeing and hearing about Jesus isn't the same as faith, and the people most familiar with the idea of Jesus are often the ones most at risk of missing the real one. This message traces offense back to where it usually starts—fear—and calls for the humility to ask, "Do I need to change? Are my eyes actually open?"
