Experience another peaceful day in our African village as we prepare a delicious traditional vegetable soup completely from scratch using fresh local ingredients. The day begins with Mr. Sunday Okeke splitting firewood to prepare for cooking over the traditional outdoor kitchen. Mrs. Ebere warmly welcomes everyone before beginning today’s cooking with fresh beef, smoked fish, vegetables, crayfish, pepper, and other local ingredients. While the meat and fish cook, the whole family comes together to help. Chibueze and Chidiogo fetch water, Grandma peels delicious roasted ukwa and palm kernels to share with everyone, and together they prepare fresh water leaves and pumpkin leaves for the soup.
