Arangieskop (aka Little Everest) Day 1 | South Africa | Western Cape
Arangieskop, also known as little Everest, is a 2-day hike in the Dassieshoek Nature Reserve just outside a town called Robertson. Legend has it that the unyielding ascend on day one will give any hiker a run for his/her money. We spent our day before the hike at Dassieshoek Cottage, situated about a Kilometre from the start. The overnight hut called Arangieskop cabin, is situated on the north facing side, overlooking the Koo Valley. Robertson is situated on the southern foot of the mountain. One does not have to be super fit to do this trail but, a good workout at a gym a week before will certainly ease the pain…ENJOY!!!
