How Did Ubisoft Even Manage To Do This? - Black Flag Resynced

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is easily one of the best looking remakes we have seen in years. The new Anvil engine graphics look incredible, the dynamic weather adds a lot to the sailing, and some of the mission changes are actually great. But as you look closer at the new gameplay footage, some massive red flags start to show up. From downgraded hunting mechanics to weird shallow water physics, Ubisoft is making some really questionable choices. The biggest problem isn't even the gameplay mechanics, it is what they are doing to the artistic soul of the original game. Looking at the newly added content and the new side quests, the writing and the cutscene animations look incredibly stiff. Seeing a charismatic character like Edward Kenway completely out of character and begging people to join his crew just doesn't feel like Black Flag. Ubisoft is currently facing massive financial trouble and it really feels like they are cutting corners here. They were honestly just 10% away from making a legendary remake, but they couldn't get the simple things right. If they can't even write a decent side quest when they have a masterpiece blueprint to copy from, what does that mean for the future of the franchise and games like Assassin's Creed Hexe?
