On July 8, 2026, at the front of Betong District Prison, Betong District, Yala Province, Mr. Issamaae Yakoh, the Betong District Chief, together with Mr. Muhammad Ramadon Kanjanawivin, or "Bang Don Long Fruit," a local entrepreneur and supporter of quality produce, organized an activity to donate "Betong Mist Mangosteen," a famous and high-quality fruit of Betong District, to share and boost morale among the officials and inmates inside Betong District Prison. Ms. Kannika Montien, the Commander of Betong District Prison, welcomed and received the fruit. Members of the Territorial Defense Volunteers assisted in moving a total of 70 crates of mangosteen from the vehicle and arranging them neatly in the designated area. Mr. Issamae Yako, the District Chief of Betong, said that this activity, in addition to delivering quality fruit, reflects the excellent cooperation between the government and private sectors in the area, working together to share kindness and produce from local farmers. The goal is to boost morale and encourage officials who have been performing their duties with continuous dedication, and also to give inmates the opportunity to eat seasonal fruit that is nutritious. Furthermore, it promotes the culture of sharing, compassion, and unity, which are important foundations of Betong District society. He also invited people both in the area and throughout the country to support Thai fruits and produce from local farmers to help support income and encourage farmers during the harvest season. Mr. Muhammad Ramadon Kanjanawivin added that this year, the weather and soil conditions in the highlands of Betong were very conducive to the growth of mangosteen, resulting in a large yield of "Betong Mist Mangosteen" entering the market. Betong Mist Mangosteen has a sweet, juicy taste, firm flesh, and is of recognized quality. Therefore, a portion of the received produce was given to personnel and inmates so that they could have the opportunity to taste the local fruit. It can be used in various ways, either eaten fresh or processed into food and beverages within the prison as appropriate. Ms. Kannika Montien, the commander of Betong District Prison, expressed her sincere gratitude to the supporters who recognized the importance and provided such a valuable gift.
