Bronşektazi

Bronchiectasis is the permanent expansion of the bronchi due to damage to the airways (bronchi) within the lungs. As the enlarged bronchi lose their elastic structure, it becomes difficult to cough out the accumulated substances (such as dust, smoke, particles, and microorganisms). Thus, the accumulated substances cause infections in the lungs after a while. Patients experience constant respiratory tract infections, cough and abundant sputum production.
