Francois was in and out of homelessness for much of a decade. After arriving in London and having his wallet and passport stolen, he would often sleep rough on the streets of Camden. Francois found warmth and refuge at the St. Pancras station piano, where he taught himself to play through cold nights. In 2016, he attended one of our Crisis at Christmas services. Here Francois met Alex, a Crisis volunteer, who encouraged him in his passion for music. Years later, Alex heard him again when walking through the station – now no longer homelessness but still finding peace of mind at the St. Pancras piano. Today, Francois is studying, running his own business, living in a safe, secure home and working on an EP (under his stage name, Keba). The music in the video is his original piece “Old Heavens”.
