M & G N J Railway. North Walsham to Melton Constable. Pt 2.

In this video I continue looking at the old Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway line from North Walsham to Melton Constable, over 60 years after it closed. Before the M&GN came to Norfolk the GER had a virtual monopoly in the area. Already operating the western lines, the Midland Railway and the Great Northern Railway were interested in taking over the rest of the system. An Act was passed in 1893 and the GNR became responsible for the permanent way and signaling. The MR provided the motive power. In 1936 administration passed solely to the LNER.
