Every morning you woke up and every night you lay down. He was already there. He already saw. The question Psalm 139 is really asking is not whether God can see everything. The question is what He does when He does. And the answer is the most important thing in the whole psalm. He stayed. He searched you and He found you and He did not turn away. His thoughts toward you outnumber the grains of sand on every shore. He knit you together before you had done a single thing to deserve it. And when you wake in the morning He is still there.
