When the estranged father arrives unexpectedly with a proposal to take his young son to live with him in the U.S., the lives of the boy, his older sister, and their mother are thrown into a whirlwind of emotions and painful memories. The mother, however, keeps everyone guessing by hiding whether the boy is truly the one chosen, leaving both children in suspense. As the father tries to win the boy’s trust, the daughter wrestles with buried resentment and a reluctant hope.
