2026 June Conversations in Indiana's African American History

Between the 1900s and 1960s, Indianapolis’s near Southside was a vibrant, integrated community where African American and Jewish residents "all just did life together" despite the Jim Crow era. Decades later, the neighborhood was dramatically reshaped by the construction of I-70 and Lucas Oil Stadium.
