Health Matters Webinar - Osteoporosis
Every six minutes, someone is admitted to hospital with a fracture caused by osteoporosis. Known as the silent disease, osteoporosis isn’t typically diagnosed until after a fracture has happened. This is because, up until this point, there are usually no signs or symptoms. At this Health Matters webinar hosted by Karen Inge, you will hear from leading researcher Professor Natalie Sims, an internationally recognised bone biologist. Her team have identified new therapeutic targets that may be used to treat osteoporosis. Guest speaker Dr Jasna Aleksova, an endocrinologist and bone researcher from Monash University will provide advice on prevention as well as the currently available treatments for osteoporosis.
