Prof. Dr. Hito Steyerl - Erich-Fromm-Preis 2025 - Lecture
The German-Japanese artist Prof. Dr. Hito Steyerl has been awarded the 2025 Erich Fromm Prize of the International Erich Fromm Society. This decision was made by the jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hardeck. The award ceremony took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in a matinee event at the Hospitalhof Education Center in Stuttgart. Hito Steyerl shared the Erich Fromm Prize, endowed with €10,000, with the artist and author James Bridle, who was previously awarded a prize for architectural theory in 2024 due to a call for a boycott of Israeli cultural institutions that he co-signed.
