Facel II

V Fifty-five years ago, the last of its kind was delivered. Until then, the Facel Vega II had enjoyed a remarkable career and, with only 184 units produced, was considered a status symbol for the rich and famous. Pablo Picasso, Ringo Starr, François Truffaut, the Shah of Persia, Christian Dior, and Princess Grace of Monaco were among its fans. The Facel Vega II was unveiled in Paris in October 1961. Compared to its predecessor, the Facel Vega HK500, the Facel II's design was a significantly more modern interpretation – without sacrificing any of its elegance or distinctive character. At first glance, the body appears considerably longer and wider than the HK500, but this is primarily due to the Facel II's lower beltline. The dynamically arranged, linear design is punctuated by abrupt angles.
