Self-Care Sunday | Wash Day

Somewhere along the way, wash day stopped feeling like a chore and started feeling like an act of self care. As I’ve been documenting this journey, I realized something I wasn’t expecting. The more I film my hair, the more I fall in love with it. My hair is mostly a mix of 4A, 4B, and 4C textures, with some finer 3C curls in the back. Learning that each section has its own needs has taught me to appreciate my hair instead of expecting every curl to do the same thing. This isn’t a perfect wash day, and honestly, I don’t want it to be. I even realized I used one of my products the wrong way, but I decided to leave it in because this is a real journey. I’m learning what works for my hair just like so many of us are. My goal is healthy waist length hair someday, but right now I’m more focused on building a relationship with my hair and creating routines that I can actually stay consistent with.
