Mugisha Muntu and Kizza Besigye face-off in a live debate

The two contenders in the FDC Presidential Flag bearer race faced off in a Televised debate on NTV in what was largely seen as a move to increase transparency in the electoral process ahead of the Party’s Presidential Vote on Wednesday. The two leaders used the opportunity to market themselves to their voters on why they were better than the other. Whereas they both agreed that theirs was a need to change the current regime, the candidates disagreed on how this will be done. Besigye who has a history of Civil disobedience rallied Citizens to demand for electoral reforms while Mugisha Muntu said there was a need for the Opposition to move away from Civil disobedience since it had not achieved the intended objective. The debate was organised by The Inter religious Council of Uganda, NTV and Great Lakes Institute.
