GAC Hyptec HT Highway Test - 1st EV To Reach ISB In One Charge? - PakWheels

In the second episode of PakWheels Highway Test series, we take the GAC Hyptec HT non gullwing variant on a real world highway journey from Lahore to Islamabad and then back from Islamabad to Lahore after charging the car again. In this video, we test the Hyptec HT’s range, AC performance, suspension, road grip, comfort, ADAS features, adaptive cruise control, specs and overall highway driving experience. We also discuss the two available variants and the three major differences between them, along with the company claimed 0 to 100 km/h time of 5.8 seconds. During the Lahore to Islamabad trip, range anxiety increased near the end as the NEDC range showed 50 km, dynamic range showed 41 km, and our destination was still 46 km away. To manage the remaining battery, we reduced the speed to 60 km/h and turned off the AC. The car reached the destination with 3% battery remaining after covering 429 km in 5 hours and 41 minutes. After fully charging the car in Islamabad, we started the return journey to Lahore and maintained around 100 km/h throughout the trip. By the time we reached Lahore, the car still had 16% battery remaining with 77 km dynamic range left. This highway test also highlights the need for a stronger fast EV charging infrastructure in Pakistan, which can help reduce range anxiety and make long distance EV travel more practical for users.
