The moment I stepped into Medina, an indescribable peace filled me. The silence, tranquility and spirituality of the city immediately made one feel that this was no ordinary place. The date palm trees I saw along the road lay in front of me like a memory from the depths of history. But beyond all these good feelings, my real excitement was to reach the Masjid an-Nabawi. The mosque of our Prophet (pbuh)… That sacred place where his blessed tomb is located… It has a magnificence that touches one's soul even at first sight. Even seeing the Green Dome from afar made my eyes moist. I entered the courtyard with slow steps. White marbles, huge umbrellas and the prayers of believers from all over the world further intensified the spiritual atmosphere of this place. As I approached Ravza-i Mutahhara, my heart started to beat faster. Praying and praying in this place, heralded as "a garden from heaven", is an indescribable feeling. Here, a person wants to pray not only for himself but for the entire ummah. When I arrived in the presence of our Prophet, words stuck in my throat. Even saying "Assalamu aleyke ya Rasulallah..." was an indescribable honor.
