Learn How To Draw Pt 6: Let's Focus On Edges

How well can you control your pencil? If you are a beginner, chances are you cant always get your pencil to do what you want it to! This can be problematic when you are drawing something that you cant reduce down into simple shapes - you actually have to look closely and just draw exactly what you see! In this lesson, we'll explore the different qualities of lines and edges, including thickness, hardness/softness, and lightness/darkness. We'll also practice observation skills through a continuous line drawing exercise before applying everything we've learned to a final drawing project. Continuous line drawing is one of those exercises which is really challenging and people tend to avoid it if they can, but its so, so valuable! In this lesson we'll use it to slow down and focus on edges, allowing us to clearly see and accurately draw our subject.
