Making Wheat Hay with John Deere 200 Stack Wagons in Drought Stricken Nebraska

In this video, I travel to western Nebraska near Crawford, where extreme drought conditions have left ranchers with very little pasture grass or alfalfa. To provide feed for their cattle herd, this farm is harvesting drought-stressed wheat and making wheat hay using a pair of classic John Deere 200 Stack Wagons. A John Deere 4440 and John Deere 7810 are busy building stacks while a John Deere 4240 tractor and Vermeer rake combine the windrows together. I even climb in the seat and rake about 25 acres myself! After stacking is complete for the day, the crew heads out to pasture where another John Deere 7810 and a John Deere stack mover/feeder deliver an alfalfa stack to the cattle. I also show their New Holland HW320 swather mowing another field of drought wheat. If you enjoy classic John Deere equipment, haying, cattle operations, and seeing how ranchers adapt to challenging conditions, I hope you enjoy the video.
