At the Bench: ARRI WCU4 & UMC-4
The ARRI WCU-4 (Wireless Control Unit) has become a staple of the industry. In this video, Ian start to explore all the rigging possibilities for the handset. Here, Ian starts with the UMC (Universal Motor Control) attached to the ALEXA Classic. The original ALEXAs do not have the electronics built in for FIZ operations, so I take you through steps needed to calibrate and control lenses using this combo. Look out for future videos demonstrating more builds with various ARRI cameras and accessories. Please note: Shortly after shooting this video, ARRI released SUP 2.0 for the UMC. It is now possible to transmit a lens file saved on the WCU-4 to the UMC-4. To read the full post, visit our blog: https://www.abelcine.com/articles/blo...
