The complaints were that the car initially stalled, but would start. Eventually, it wouldn't start at all. The owner's initial diagnostics revealed engine block errors, specifically internal voltage errors, and several other errors related to the intake manifold pressure, throttle body pressure, and the fuel tank vent valve. Diagnostics using the Launch, Diazone, Kingbolen Ediag scanner revealed several errors. Each time the code was reset and reread, the errors were different: 2B9D 2A6C 2A19 2B9C 2CF0 2CEF A3AD A3AF. During the initial check, the car started, but the engine shook. When attempting to warm up the engine, the car stalled, but then started again. Then it stalled again, and the starter turned over, but the engine did not start. When warming up continued, the engine stalled, the starter no longer turned over, and the engine block lost communication. Further diagnostics revealed a fault directly in the engine block. Removal, disassembly, and repair of the BMW 7 Series E66 engine control unit.
