Officer Don “DJ” Keller of the Greenwood Police Department in South Carolina was killed in the line of duty on May 11, 2026, while responding to assist fellow officers during a pursuit involving a fleeing juvenile suspect. DJ Keller was a U.S. Army veteran, South Carolina National Guard soldier, K9 handler, husband, father, and brother in blue. He joined the Greenwood Police Department in 2023 and became a K9 handler alongside his partner Vice in 2025. He leaves behind his wife Alison, their young daughter, and a department and community grieving an unimaginable loss.
