EP 46: FNB BOTSWANA HALF YEAR RESULTS
First National Bank Botswana has released its half-year financial results. Profit before tax remained flat at P1 billion, meaning the bank generated roughly the same level of profit as it did last year. While this reflects stability, it also suggests that profit growth has slowed in the current environment. Meanwhile, return on equity declined to 32.4%, indicating the bank is still strongly profitable but generating slightly less return from the capital invested by shareholders than it did previously. Beyond the numbers, CEO Steven Bogatsu and Acting Chief Financial Officer Orapeleng Senwelo include us in their discussion at how the bank is future-proofing its growth and performance amid geopolitical and economic uncertainty, while also highlighting strategies aimed at helping customers and businesses remain resilient in the months ahead.
