Richard Pitman talks about Crisp and the 1973 Grand National
I sat with Richard on the bench dedicated to the great Fred Winter who rode and trained so many winners. Richard was Fred's stable jockey during the yard's most successful period, riding horses like Pendil, Bula, Lanzarote, Killiney and the magnificent Crisp. It's Crisp we talk about here, on the run-up to the 40th anniversary of his Grand National defeat by the wonderful Red Rum. Richard is my 'partner in crime' in writing the Eddie Malloy Series of books.
