The Narcissist as a Teacher

1) Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater: The narcissist as abuser needs to go. The narcissist as a lesson needs to stay. This hellhole of an experience is only redeemed by growing from it. And the only way you can truly make sure you don't end up close to another pathologically narcissistic person is by learning from this one. 2) This experience offers a gateway into healing other traumas. Maybe there's something about your experience of the narcissist(ic abuse) that makes relevant other traumas from your life. Recovering from this abuse offers an opportunity to recover yourself in additional ways. 3) The narcissist reflects back to us something about ourselves.
