This video was made to introduce tert-butyl chloride synthesis to chemistry students (specifically, as part of distance learning courses offered by the Faculty of Materials Science at MSU PPI Shenzhen). It covers all the steps of the synthesis in detail: introduction to the methodology, reagent preparation, reaction execution, product isolation and purification, and identification. Why am I speaking so slowly? This video was originally intended for non-native Russian speakers. Why is the video so long? On the one hand, it's important to show the process in as much detail as possible to allow for questions, but on the other, it needs to be presented within two academic hours.
