Savio Vega Returns to IWA PR 2004

From 1999 -2005 IWA Puerto Rico did the best business that island had ever done. With the booking of Dutch Mantel and Luke Williams, the IWA flourished as one the last true wrestling territories. The spark that really ignited the fire was Savio Vega's heel turn in 2001. The angle of Savio joining forces with the Starr Corporation (Chicky Starr and Victor The Bodyguard) against Shane The Glamour Boy and Ricky Banderas popped the territory wide open. With Savio's heat reaching its appex in late 2003, they decided to shoot an angle were Savio gets suspended. A brilliant booking decision as the IWA was so hot, that they would sell out ballparks just on a teaser that they would see Savio's return. By the summer of 2004 they had realigned the landscape of the IWA and its characters, making Savio a huge babyface for his imminent return. This video is of the night he returned and its tremendous reaction from the crowd. At the 1:29 mark of the video CHAIRS ARE THROWN into the ring by the crowd in excitement. Its a lost art to book Pro Wrestling this well to invoke such a reaction.
