Waste and urban hygiene were a priority for the new administration, yet things don't seem to have improved. From the historic center to Vomero, piles of garbage are concentrated around the recycling bins, creating veritable landfills. This phenomenon is also fueled by the uncontrolled touristification of the city, with bars and restaurants that have increased waste production.
