Sergio Vallín cuenta la historia de su entrada a Maná

In this video, Mexican guitarist Sergio Vallín tells the little-known story of how he became part of Maná, one of the most important bands in Spanish-language rock. In 1994, when Maná was already filling stadiums and was a continental phenomenon, Sergio was playing on small stages with his brothers in Aguascalientes. His life took an unexpected turn thanks to a chance but decisive connection with Kiko Cibrián, Luis Miguel's guitarist. ▶ Sergio Vallín is playing a Gibson Les Paul™: https://bit.ly/4pzjbRp Visit Maná's official channel:    / @oficialmana   Sergio recalls how, with just a Walkman and a cassette of his instrumental music, he ventured out to find Kiko at the hotel where Luis Miguel's band was staying. He gave him his tape hoping to get some lessons. Months later, while rehearsing with his family band, he received a call at his parents' house: it was Fher Olvera from Maná. Through a chain of recommendations and coincidences that also involved Pepe Quintana (RIP), that forgotten cassette reached the right ears. Although his style was influenced by guitarists like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai—far removed from Maná's sound—Sergio managed to convey his versatility by playing traditional Mexican music, boleros, and all kinds of music at weddings and local celebrations. This episode of My Story explores how a young guitarist from the provinces, with passion and determination, went from playing in restaurants to debuting in front of thousands of people in a stadium in Puerto Rico, where, as he recalls, he felt the power of his guitar like never before: “Everything will be heard… both the good and the mistakes.” Sergio reflects on the fear, excitement, and surprise of becoming part of a musical phenomenon without seeking it. His story is a testament to how admiration, preparation, and a small opportunity can change an entire life. 📼 Related Videos Below: ▶ Zeta Bosio of Soda Stereo talks about his Thunderbird™ bass, John Entwistle, and more:    • Zeta Bosio de Soda Stereo habla sobre su b...   ▶ Fabián "Zorrito Von" Quintiero talks about playing with Soda Stereo, Charly García, and more.    • Fabián "Zorrito Von" Quintiero habla sobre...   ▶ My Epiphone: Iñaki Colombo from Bandalos Chinos:    • Iñaki Colombo de Bandalos Chinos: Por esto...   Find your local Gibson dealer: https://www.gibson.com/en-US 📩 Get Gibson news BEFORE ANYONE ELSE: https://bit.ly/GetGibsonNEWS 📱Follow us on social media, in Spanish! ▶   / gibsonespanol   ▶   / gibsonespanol   ▶   / gibsones   🔔 Subscribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/@gibsontvenes... 📹 Follow our other channels!
