Babes In Arms (Colorized)-Opera vs jazz (3/3)
In honor of the 80th Anniversary of Babes in Arms, I’ve decided to upload clips of the rare colorized version of this movie. The colorized version has not been released on Home Video or DVD , it was broadcast on TCM back in 1993, this is a vhs recording from that broadcast along with Remastered Stereo tracks of the Soundtrack. She was part of the original suggested cast for M-G-M's classic film The Wizard of Oz (1939). She was supposed to have played the Princess of Oz, who sang opera, and would have been contrasted with Judy Garland's Dorothy, who was originally supposed to have sung jazz. Both the idea of Dorothy singing jazz and the Princess of Oz were completely dropped from later versions of the script, as well as the finished film.
