Witnesses Stunned as Fire Ignites in Laundromat!

On Mar 11, 2023 a dryer fire started at Washin Golden Springs Laundromat. Most of the damage was due to the door being opened and providing oxygen to the smoldering fire. In situations like this the gas valve is automatically turned off when the temperature rises due to the fire. If the dryer continues to run the flames may be more visible but the smoke and heat is being vented to the outside of the building through the dryer exhaust vent. If the dryer stops it's probably due to some wires melting and tripping the breaker or the belts being damaged. If a fire can be seen or is suspected inside a dryer, leave the store, call 911 and wait for the fire department. Opening the door allows oxygen to the smoldering items and may expand the fire, as seen in the video.
