7 Reasons Your Horse Nudges You – And How to Respond

🌿Every horse nudges. But not every nudge means the same thing. In this video, we explore 7 common reasons your horse may nudge you - and what each one can mean in horse body language. Sometimes your horse is simply curious. Sometimes it may be inviting play, asking you to move, or inviting a grooming exchange. Some of these nudges are asking something of you. Some aren’t asking anything at all. And learning to tell them apart changes how you read your horse in your everyday moments together. Because the really interesting moments often don’t happen during training, but in those quiet, unscripted situations - when you’re just standing together, when you first enter the paddock, or when your horse approaches you in the pasture. 👉 This is exactly the kind of thing we go deep on inside Being Herd, my program for horse owners who want to understand their horse the way wild horses understand each other. Inside the Being Herd Video Library for example, you'll find step-by-step videos that walk you through exactly how wild horses communicate, and how to translate that into your everyday life with your own horse. 👀 Next week we’ll talk about: what a nudge means once mutual grooming has already started. That conversation gets even more subtle.
