It is a town best known to have the Afia Kobi Ampem Girls Secondary School. Recently, Traboum installed a queen mother, Nana Akua Nkroma Adasa I, 1 year and 6 months after the death of the previous queen mother, Nana Korankye Anima I who reigned for 91 years In Akan, Queenmothers are installed whilst Kings are enstooled. Queen others undergo less processes in order to be installed as compared to the Kings, Chiefs and Sub-chiefs. After a queen mother has been installed, she is outdoored (a durbar is held in her name and her people gather around to pay respect to her as their new queen)
